Penguin Island Ferry
& Cruise Options
Catch the ferry, take a glass bottom boat cruise or explore more of the park onboard the eco- adventure boat! Cruises operate September 15 through till the first long weekend in June. Closed December 25th for Christmas & the winter penguin breeding season.
Penguin Island Ferry
A 5 minute ferry ride is all it takes to meet the world's smallest penguins! Your ticket includes entry to the Discovery Centre to see these normally secretive and rarely seen creatures up close. Spend your day exploring spectacular bays & beaches perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Go fishing, surfing, enjoy a picnic or just soak up the relaxed island atmosphere of this A class nature reserve.

At your leisure, 10 minutes past the hour 10.00am and 3.00pm. Last ferry of the day is 4pm.
Penguin & Sea Lion Cruise (Glass Bottom Boat Cruise)
Enjoy a 45 minute glass bottom boat cruise through the wildlife sanctuary zone of the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park. Get up close to the rugged natural beauty of these spectacular islands and learn about the local wildlife from our friendly skippers. The highlight is visiting Seal Island to watch rare Sea Lions at play before concluding on Penguin Island to see the penguin feeding at the Discovery Centre.

3. Dolphin Watch (Eco- Adventure Boat)
Start your visit to Penguin Island with a 2 hour adventure style cruise through the more remote parts of the marine park in search of Rockingham’s famous wild dolphins. With over 21 years of trust and friendship, we offer visitors a unique insight into the daily lives of these fascinating creatures. Other wildlife you may see includes Australian Sea Lions, Stingrays, Ospreys & Pelicans. Your cruise concludes on Penguin Island so spend the rest of your day enjoying the spectacular bays, beaches & wildlife of this A class nature reserve.
